Do you want to customize your WordPress theme for your desired needs? Just brushing up? This tutorial guide will help you how to customize a WordPress theme the right way.
Depending on the WordPress theme you are using for your WordPress site, you can make a different set of changes to your site from within your admin panel.
This easy tutorial explains how to make some of the changes to your website using the Customization interface. For this tutorial, I will use the Twenty Nineteen theme.
How to Access Your WordPress Customization Interface
To start customizing your WordPress theme, you will need to visit the “Appearance » Themes” option in the WordPress admin area. This option will take you to the WordPress themes page.
On the themes page, locate the active theme (Twenty Nineteen in my case) and click on “Customize” next to its title. This option will take you to the WordPress theme customization interface.
Or go to the “Appearance > Customize” option in the WordPress admin area. This option will take you to the theme customization interface.
You must be noticing many options in the WordPress customizer interface on your left and a live preview of your website.
You can modify your WordPress theme in real-time. You will see a list of the available options on the left, and on the right, a live preview of your site and how those changes will affect it.
I want to customize or change the website title and tagline.
Modify your WordPress Site Title and Tagline
The theme customization page allows you to change or customize your website title and tagline and see how it will look immediately. To do this, expand the “Site Identity” group of settings and alter the text.
You will see the new text showing up in the preview on the right side as you type. Once you are happy with the result, click on “Publish.”
Additional WordPress Theme Customizations Options
Depending on the WordPress theme you are using for the website, there might be additional options on that page.
For example, the Twenty Nineteen theme allows modifying color schemes, adding additional CSS, and more. Once you are happy with the result, click on “Publish” to save the changes.
